Services

Services are currently provided through telehealth (virtual) only and not in-person. I currently have Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT®) from the PSYPACT® Commission. This means that even though I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois, I can provide virtual psychotherapy sessions in 42 states. Clients who are residents in PSYPACT-approved® states are able to receive telehealth services. For more information, please click here.

Services will be provided through telehealth using secure Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant technology for your privacy and security.

All sessions are 45-50 minutes long. They initially occur weekly for treatment to be effective. However, sessions can be added or reduced depending on the client(s)’ needs or circumstances: noted progress, worsening of symptoms, and/or traveling outside of Illinois. This can be further addressed during consultation, the initial intake and/or during treatment.

Before receiving services, the first (and second appointment, if necessary) appointment is used for an intake session. Similar to a doctor’s appointment as a new patient, I will be gathering information to learn more about your presenting problem(s) as well as other information (e.g., family, social, work/school, medical, and mental health history) to better understand you and your circumstance(s). This will help me identify with you what you are experiencing (diagnosis) to better support you (treatment) and your own short-term and/or long-term goals.

Disclosure: As a mandated reporter in the state of Illinois, I am required to report suspected child and/or elder abuse as well as any risk of harm to oneself and/or to others to ensure one’s safety and the safety of others.

Individual Therapy

Some younger children can be seen for virtual therapy. However, if they would better benefit from receiving in-person therapy elsewhere, referrals can be provided for on-site services. Individual therapy is also offered to adolescents and adults to address their social and emotional needs.

Family Therapy

Families of all backgrounds are welcome to receive family therapy to help resolve their conflicts, improve their relationships, and address their separate and joint needs through effective communication.

Couples Therapy

Couples are welcome to receive virtual couples therapy to help improve their communication and the quality of their relationship. Couples therapy can also be used to address relationship conflicts as well as social and emotional needs.

Letter Writing

Letter-writing services are offered to clients who are interested in receiving additional support or services outside of therapy and are required to provide a letter from a mental health provider. This can further be discussed with the therapist during a consultation, the initial intake session, and/or during treatment for more information.

Professional Consultation

Professional consultation services are provided to mental health providers who are interested in receiving additional support in assessing, treating, and understanding their client(s) needs based on my knowledge and areas of expertise.

Educational Seminars

Educational and/or training seminars are offered to communities, organizations, and academic settings based on topics and areas of expertise that interest them and their needs.
